Booking Conditions

Swiss Trip Travel Services ( by way of any of its registered brands ) is not itself a carrier or hotelier or car hire company, nor do we own aircraft, hotels, restaurants or coaches. We exercise every care in the selection of reputable service providers, which term includes but is not limited to airlines, equipment suppliers, car rental companies, hotels, restaurant operators and mountain guides (“service providers”), which we recommend or which are used in tours which we sell. All bookings are subject to the terms and conditions and limitations of liability imposed by these service providers, some of which limit or exclude liability in respect of death, personal injury, delay and loss or damage to baggage.

We always do our best to make sure your holiday arrangements are satisfactory. However, we cannot accept any liability of whatever nature, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, for the acts, omissions or default, whether negligent or otherwise, of these service providers, over whom we have no direct control.

We do not accept any liability in contract, tort or otherwise for any injury, damage, loss, delay, additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by force majeure or  any other event which is beyond our control or which is not preventable by reasonable diligence on our part.

We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance against these risks.

It is the traveller’s personal responsibility to ensure that they have valid documentation, including but not limited to valid passport and visas, which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities in Switzerland. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be the sole responsibility of the traveller.

It should be noted by all travellers that documents issued to a traveller are non transferable. Such documents may include but are not limited to, airline tickets, hotel vouchers, tour vouchers or any other document used to confirm an arrangement with a service provider.
Such documents may also be subject to conditions such as, but not limited to, being non refundable, non date changeable and subject to cancellation or amendment fees.

Please read these booking conditions carefully as they incorporate the basis upon which bookings are accepted by Swiss Trip Travel Services.

1. How to Book

Contact Swiss Trip Travel Services either via the website of directly over the telephone.  Please note that all reservations are subject to availability at the time of booking. Any verbal quote given is an estimate only of the price which will be subject to advice on confirmation of the booking.

2. Confirmation and Deposit

A deposit of AUD$600 per person is payable within 7 days of confirmation.  If deposits are not received within 7 days we reserve the right to cancel your booking.

3. Final Payment

Final payment of your holiday is due 60 days prior to departure or we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled and apply the appropriate cancellation charges.  For bookings made within 60 days of departure full payment is required within 24 hours of confirmation or your booking may be auto cancelled.

4. Alteration to Package or Tour Price

All costs however are subject to change without notice. No surcharges in respect of costs or currency deterioration will be made once full payment for your holiday has been received. The price of your holiday is not guaranteed until full payment is received by Swiss Trip Travel Services.

5. Cancellations, Refunds & Used Services

The charges below will be made in the event of cancellation, or if holiday arrangements are not cancelled and subsequently not taken up (no show):

  • Prior to full payment – There will be no refund of deposit.
  • After final payment – There will be no refund of your deposit, plus fees may be charged by hotels and ground operators or airlines up to 100% of the cost.
  • No refund is available for cancellations after the holiday package has commenced or in respect of any tours, accommodation or any other services not fully or partly-utilised.
  • Changes to the package commencement date or passengers’ names will be treated as a cancellation.
  • Please ask your travel agent at time of booking for additional SUPPLIER booking conditions and cancellation fees.

6. Minimum Package Numbers

The package has been costed on the basis of a minimum number of passengers travelling.  In the event that less than the required number of passengers have confirmed their bookings 60 days prior to departure, SWISS TRIP TRAVEL SERVICES reserves the right to cancel the tour, giving a full refund of monies paid, or offer arrangements to proceed with the package at a modified price.

7. Hotel Descriptions

Descriptions featured are based on current international hotel guides and contractual agreements provided by hotels and suppliers. Any facilities shown as included are subject to change at any time.

8. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that, at the time of booking, you purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy.

9. Not Included in the Price

The cost of airfares, passports, visas and airport taxes, where applicable, are not included in the price, nor are items of a personal nature such as laundry, meals, taxis, travel insurance or excess baggage. Government and local authority charges may apply.

10. Health & Immigration

You are responsible for all exit, entry, health and other documents required by laws and regulations of countries visited/transited. It is not the responsibility of Swiss Trip Travel Services to advise on passport, visa or health issues. Swiss Trip Travel Services will not be liable for any loss or expense due to failure to comply with any such requirements.

11. Tour Leader

In the unlikely event that the tour leader is unable to perform his duties due to illness, accident, or other unforeseen event, Swiss Trip Travel Services reserves the right to substitute another tour leader or to continue with the tour as planned.

12. Responsibilities

Swiss Trip Travel Services is responsible for making reservations with the SUPPLIERS offering the services described in this itinerary as per the terms and conditions within this brochure.

Swiss Trip Travel Services is not itself a carrier or hotelier or car hire company, nor do we own aircraft, hotels, restaurants or coaches. The flights, rail, coach journeys, hotel accommodation, and other components of your holiday included in this itinerary are supplied by reputable providers on their own conditions. Therefore all bookings with Swiss Trip Travel Services are subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant service providers, some of which limit or exclude liability in respect of death, personal injury, delay and loss or damage to baggage.

Swiss Trip Travel Services does not accept any responsibility of whatever nature for the acts, omissions or defaults, whether negligent or otherwise, of those airlines, coach operators, shipping companies, hoteliers or other persons providing services in connection with your holiday pursuant to a contract between them and yourselves over whom we have no direct control.

Swiss Trip Travel Services does not accept liability in contract or in tort for any injury, damage, loss, delay, additional expenses or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by force majeur or other events which are beyond our control, or which are not preventable by reasonable diligence on our part including, but not limited to, war, civil disturbance, fire, floods, unusually severe weather conditions, acts of God, acts of Government or any other authorities, accidents to, or failure of, equipment or machinery or industrial action.
Swiss Trip Travel Services will not be liable for any loss or damage sustained because of delays or inconvenience that might be experienced during your holiday.

Swiss Trip Travel Services reserves the right to cancel or change any holiday or service without notice at any time. In the event of cancellation or change, Swiss Trip Travel Services will offer alternative arrangements if any are available or, if alternative arrangements are not available or are reasonably unacceptable to you, we will refund that part of any money paid which relates to the part of the holiday or service that has been cancelled or changed. Apart from that refund and subject to any statutory provision to the contrary, Swiss Trip Travel Services will not be liable.

13. Law & Conditions

The terms and conditions contained within this itinerary are governed by the laws of VICTORIA, Australia. No employee, servant or agent of Swiss Trip Travel Services has authority to vary these conditions.

14. Consumer Claims

If any difficulties are experienced while you are on holiday, you should attempt to rectify these immediately with the applicable Supplier. In the case of issues which could not be resolved in this way and you wish to lodge a claim on your return, this must be made in writing, with full supporting documentation, within 30 days of your return. This claim must be submitted to Swiss Trip Travel Services who will forward the claim to the Supplier on your behalf and cannot be held responsible for delays in this case.

BOOKING CONDITIONS SPECIFIC TO SWISS TRIP DAY TRIPS

15. Responsibility

You acknowledge that Swiss Trip Day Trips (tours) may involve physical exercise at high altitude. Swiss Trip Day Trips are arranged around a flexible itinerary that can change without prior notice due to mountain conditions, safety concerns or at the discretion of the Swiss Trip Personnel.

Should Swiss Trip deem it advisable to amend a day trip itinerary for any reason, it may do so by shortening, varying or re-routing any day trip. These changes are binding and additional expenses will be charged to you if the reason for any alteration is outside Swiss Trips control. While travelling on a Swiss Trip Day Trips you agree to accept the authority of Swiss Trip Personnal at all times.

You understand that Swiss Trip Travel Services reserves the right to decline, accept, or retain any person as a member of the group at any time. You acknowledge that Swiss Trip Travel Services has affiliations with a network of companies and individuals that assist in the running of its tours. To the best of Swiss Trip's knowledge, these third parties are qualified to perform the duties they are contracted to perform. However Swiss Trip will not be held liable for any injury, damage, loss, delay or irregularity that may occur due to the behaviour of these third parties. Swiss Trip Travel Services will not accept responsibility or liability for any traveller who contravenes any law or regulation of Switzerland .

16. Participation Form

All travellers on Swiss Trip Day Trips are required to sign a Participation Form prior to departure. The wording of this form has been reproduced below. Signing the Participation Form is a prerequisite of undertaking Swiss Trip Day Trips.

"I understand that undertaking a Swiss Trip Day Trips may involve participating in inherently dangerous activities and that I am not obligated by Swiss Trip Travel Services to participate in any of the activities offered or available during the tour. In participating in any of the activities I do so at my own risk.

I have read and understood the Swiss Trip Travel Services Terms and Conditions for the tour I am undertaking and have provided details of any pre-existing medical conditions I have to Swiss Trip Travel Services in writing. I accept these risks and obligations and I release Swiss Trip Services from any liabilities connected to these risks to the maximum extent permitted by law."

17. Medical Form

It is a condition of booking a Swiss Trip Day Trip that travellers who suffer from a pre-existing medical conditions or are over the age of 60, provide a Medical Certificate signed by their doctor and complete the Swiss Trip Travel Services General Health Questionnaire form. This is to ensure we are aware of any medical issues in the unlikely case we have to react while on tour.

The Certificate and Questionnaire should act as a prompt for you to consider any fitness issues well in advance of booking your selected Day Trip. All travellers wishing to undertake a Swiss Trip Day Trip should have a reasonable level of fitness to ensure they can adapt to the climate faster and can handle the activities they may choose to undertake.

The Certificate and Questionnaire should be completed, signed by yourself and your physician and returned to Swiss Trip. It is very important for your own health and safety that you complete all questions fully and truthfully.
