Sensuous Leukerbad. Set against the stunning panoramic back-drop of the towering 4,000 m summits of Valais, the Torrent ski area provides some great skiing and snowboarding. At the end of an eventful day lie back and ease your aching limbs in the soothingly warm thermal waters of the outdoor pool. Watch the snowflakes floating gently to the ground - winter is wonderful in Leukerbad!
Leukerbad is situated in the canton of Valais in the south of Switzerland at 1411 metres above sea level.
An impressive location because of the cliffs which surround Leukerbad: to the east, the Daubenhorn at 2942m, to the north the Gemmi Pass at 2322m and the Balmhorn at 3698m and to the west the Torrenthorn at 2998m.
The road which leads to Leukerbad comes into the secluded valley from the south and the town of Leuk in the Rhone valley.

Skiing and snowboarding high up in the sun... In the village, skiers and snowboarders have the choice of two ski lifts, or they can take the cable car to the Torrent ski area. More than 50 km of pistes, some of which have seen world-cup races, as well as the snowboard fun park provide a wealth of opportunities for pursuing your favourite hobby.
Keen walkers can enjoy the fresh air and spectacular scenery on more than 40 km of winter walking paths around the village, on the panorama winter hiking trail on Torrent and up on the Gemmi - with or without snow shoes.
For a first-class tobogganing experience you should try the toboggan runs at the Gemmi pass. At 2350 m above sea level you have a magnificent view of the gems of the Valais Alps. You will be fascinated by the wide expanses of this idyllic plateau. The two 1 km long toboggan runs are situated right in the middle of this picturesque landscape.
