The Heart of the Zinal Glacier

YOUR DAY
Travel up the small side valley of Val d'Anniviers to the last village; Zinal. Look out beyond the village to the magnificent Zinal glacier. Put on your backpack, strap on your snow shoes and take an unforgettable two hour walk to the crystalline entrails of this incredible sight. Accompanied by a Swiss mountain guide, you'll be safe to explore and marvel at some of the most amazing ice formations. Stop for a picnic lunch and learn about the glacier from your guide. Take the breath taking snowshoe walk back to the Zinal village for a hot drink before heading home.

Zinal is located at the end of the magic Anniviers valley and at the foot of the 'Imperial Crown' with its famous peaks over 4000m high: Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, Besso, Obergabelhorn, Matterhorn, Dent-Blanche and not forgetting the Bishorn, the most accessible 4000 metre peak in the alps.
